Cost pressure, hygiene safety, sustainable management, smart processes - the challenges in hospitals and nursing homes are complex. During the two-day conference, MEIKO strives to deliver answers together with the invited panel of experts on how to manage these challenges successfully in the future.

As two years of construction draw to a close, the Innovation Centre for Energy Technologies (RIZ Energie) in Offenburg is now open for business. Specialist hygiene company MEIKO made a six-figure investment in the project and already works extensively with the university.

The Baden-Württemberg-based machine builder MEIKO announced in June the founding of 'MEIKO Clean Solutions Japan'. Now it has followed this with an additional sales and service location, 'MEIKO Clean Solutions Mexico'. This further expands its presence in this strategically important region, in which MEIKO has successfully participated in the market for years.

2020 is a year of challenge for food service and hotel companies, and for exhibition organisers, too. The international industry trade show for hotels, food service, bakeries and pastry shops, Internorga, could not take place but the Top hotel Star Award was still conferred. The award went to the hygiene experts at MEIKO once again this year. With MEIKO eRgOnomics, it was not a machine receiving an award, but a service. This approach is especially appropriate while the crisis is causing many commercial kitchens to operate at lower staffing levels. Efficient organisation is more important than ever, including in the communal catering departments of hospitals and care homes.

Independent institute confirms efficacy of MEIKO cleaning and disinfection technology. Providing the capability to safely clean and disinfect almost all hospital utensils that could be contaminated – even for faecal–oral transmission.

The hygienic safety of the MEIKO warewashing technology is regarded as a safe procedure for the inactivation of coronaviruses and thus also as highly effective against the new pathogen. The properties of coronaviruses mean that process conditions and the disinfectant cleaning carried out in the machines are highly effective against them. That is why MEIKO China is donating machines to a city most affected by the virus outbreak: Huanggang.

MEIKO celebrates and thanks six employees for 40 and 50 years of commitment. "Employees are the gold of a company – and not only in times when there is a shortage of skilled workers," says CEO Dr.-Ing. Stefan Scheringer. Six of them have been gold plating MEIKO for 40 and 50 years. This was recently toasted by the expert for washing and hygiene technology. Mayor Edith Schreiner presented the honorary certificates of the state of Baden-Württemberg on behalf of the minister president.
